Writers, creatives and bookworms have too little time to be frustrated and unhappy when we buy online. At Loyal Lyre we want you to be 100% satisfied with not only your purchase but your experience from start to finish - though there are some legal obligations that both Loyal Lyre and you must comply with to ensure all transactions are completed without loss or inconvenience.

Stocked items (not print-on-demand, handmade or customised)

These are covered under the 14-day cancellation guarantee for distance goods. You can return an item if you have changed you mind, or are unhappy with the item, please let us know the reason you are unhappy, as we may be able to rectify it immediately!

If not, please return whichever item you're unhappy with and I'll do the rest.

Handmade Items

All Loyal Lyre Casebound Notebooks are Made to Order and great care is taken to ensure your order arrives to you in perfect condition, so production and despatch times vary depending on the size and complexity of the order. We aim to ensure, where possible, all orders are despatched on the day of completion.

Normal delivery is between 3-5 days from date of despatch. 

Larger or complex orders

These may have different production times - these orders include:

  • Over 5 items ordered in one transaction, where more than two (2) of these items are made to order or personalised/customised, or;

  • Over 10 blank items made to order but not customised/personalised

 

These orders will be confirmed after order with estimated production and delivery times.

All effort is made to get your order out sooner than stated.

Delivery

Small orders are free with Royal Mail 1st Class.

Large orders will be sent out Royal Mail 1st Class free as one order and will be sent when all parts of the order are completed (if Made to Order), unless otherwise arranged.

Delivery

When will I get my order?

It takes 3-7 days to fulfill an order, after which it’s shipped out. The shipping time depends on your location, but can be estimated as follows:


USA: 5-​8 business days


International: 10-20 business days

Where will my order ship from?

We work with an on-demand order fulfillment company with facilities worldwide!

Will I be charged customs for my order?

An additional customs and tax fee can occur on international orders. This fee is not in our control and is assessed by your local customs office. Customs policies vary widely for every country so please check with your local customs office directly to see if they apply duties and taxes to your purchases.

My order should be here by now, but I still don't have it. What should I do?

Before getting in touch with us, please help us out by doing the following:

  • Check your shipping confirmation email for any mistakes in the delivery address.

  • Ask your local post office if they have your package.

  • Stop by your neighbors in case the courier left the package with them

 

Pro tip: Package theft is on the rise—If you're expecting a home delivery and you know you won't be home to accept it, use an address where you know you'll be!If the shipping address was correct, and the package wasn't left at the post office or at your neighbour’s, get in touch with us at info@loyal-lyre.uk with your order number.

If you did find a mistake in your delivery address, we can send you a replacement order, but shipping will be at your own cost.]

Pro tip: The post/zip code is the most important part of the address. Use a simple tool like Royal Mail postcode finder or U​ SPS ZIP code lookup​ to make sure you get it right!

How are your products made?

We work with a reliable, high-quality print-on-demand drop shipper. They have locations worldwide, so depending on where you are, your orders are printed and shipped from the facility that can do it most efficiently!

How do I track my order?

If your shipping method includes tracking, you’ll receive a tracking link via email when your order ships out. If you have any questions about your tracking or shipment, drop us a line at [insert your support email here].

 

I received a wrong/damaged product, what should I do?

We’re so sorry if the product you ordered arrived damaged. To help us resolve this for you quickly, please email us at [insert your support email here] within a weeks' time with photos of the damaged product, your order number, and any other details you may have about your order. We’ll get back to you with a resolution as soon as possible!

 

Returns

What’s your return policy?

We don’t offer returns and exchanges, but if there’s something wrong with your order, please let us know by contacting us at info@loyal-lyre.uk!

Do you offer refunds?

Refunds are only offered to customers that receive the wrong items or damaged items. If any of these apply, please contact us at info@loyal-lyre.uk with photos of wrong/damaged items and we’ll sort that out for you.

Can I exchange an item for a different size/color?

At this time, we don't offer exchanges. If you’re unsure which size would fit better, check out our sizing charts—we have one for every item listed on our store, in the product description section.

Though rare, it's possible that an item you ordered was mislabelled. If that’s the case, please let us know at info@loyal-lyre.ukwithin a week after receiving your order. Include your order number and photos of the mislabeled item, and we’ll send you a new one, or issue a refund!

PAYMENT

Payment types for all items in the shop that are accepted can be found on the checkout page.

All shop goods must be paid for up-front in full before orders are sent out or services completed.

HANDMADE ITEM CARE

EMBROIDERED

On waterproof canvas

Embroidered images on waterproof fabrics are kept small to maintain the integrity of the fabric, and extra waterproofing is added to all embroideries.

It is recommended that waterproofing is reapplied to any embroideries during use, depending on how much use the bag gets. This can be in a spray format, like that for tents, or leather shoes. Though embroidery polyester is hardwearing and can undergo domestic chemical washes, please check the instructions on any waterproofing to ensure it is colour-fast and will not affect the embroidery sheen.

 

Waterproofing to areas where embroideries have been sewn cannot be guaranteed as 100% waterproof once the base fabric has been pierced. Every effort is made to ensure embroideries are sealed well and shower proof, but instructions post-purchase should be followed to ensure embroideries remain water-retentive.

On other fabrics

Unless the fabric is stated as 100% waterproof it won't be provided as such. It is possible to protect fabrics from showers by adding waterproofing with a strong spray, but ensure these sprays are for the type of fabric you are intending to proof, or colours/fabric integrity may be affected. 

Some waterproof sprays may also come out in the wash over time, so always check the instructions to ensure your fabric is suitable.

Loyal Lyre takes no responsibility for water damaged goods made from goods made of non-waterproof fabrics, or goods made with waterproof fabrics with embroideries where the fabric has been pierced to embellish the item. 

IRON-ON

Iron-on foil is generally hardwearing and usually showerproof and washproof. It should never be ironed directly, and should always be either on the reverse or under a thicker piece of fabric, like a tea-towel.

Chemicals used in washing machines can aggravate iron-on foil and so they should be used to the minimum. Iron-on foil colour should never fade,but may eventually begin to flake when washed and worn often.

The advice is to handwash items with iron-on foil only, and in hand-warm water only, with a mild detergent.

WATERPROOF CANVAS

Waterproof canvas should NEVER be put in a washing machine due to its waterproofed inner. It may warp the fabric and destroy the integrity of the bag at high temperatures.

Cleaning can be carried out with a damp, soft sponge or cloth and a little gentle soap, then rinsed. If necessary a cold water wash can be carried out, however, it is not advised to leave these products submerged at any time.

 

Spills and stains

Waterproofed fabric has a higher resistance to spills and stains than other fabrics and so cleaning should not prove difficult if needed.

Waterproofing

Waterproof canvas should never need waterproofing unless it is very old and the waterproof layer is wearing down.
