"It’s 1942, a time when soldiers, despite wartime fears, hold onto their dreams of love everlasting."
"I thoroughly enjoyed this book! The author did an excellent job of making you feel like you were actually in WWII America - the clothes, the songs playing on the radio, the sugar rationing, the newsreels of the war playing before movies. Every detail was well researched and true to the time period. The unique inclusion of actual photographs and diary/letter excerpts were the cherry on top for me. Not only did I get to put faces with the characters that I felt I knew, but it really brought home that this wonderful sweet romance, with all its twists and turns, was actually real. Highly recommend! -- Ann Boelter, Award-Winning Author of Nena, the first in the Viking Treasure Huntress Series
"This wonderful historical romance is full of thought-provoking writing. From the in-depth descriptions of the clothing and food and war time happenings, you can't help but become part of the story. I know I finished the book wanting the recipes for the chicken and dumplings and the biscuits and gravy. It is a story to remind us of how relationships can survive. It seems in current times, with all the technology available, that relationships end quicker than ever." --Amazon Customer
"It was a wonderful story of an amazing woman. Cannot wait to read the sequel." -- Roy Gee, friend from long ago
